The rose that grew from concrete.

Conditions must change in order to trigger growth.

Don’t be surprised at the fact that you are experiencing uncomfortable situations in this season. In order for you to grow, your capacity must be increased. In order to increase your capacity, you must overcome difficult seasons. In order to overcome difficult seasons, uncomfortable situations have to be present.

You may think that being laid off or losing your job has diminished your worth; maybe this is an opportunity for you to get your creative juices flowing so that you can start the business, to write the book, to finish the project, or to be present in your home and the lives of your loved ones.

You may think having to be “quarantined” is contributing to your anxiety, stress and depression; maybe this an opportunity to dig a little deeper into exploring who you really are apart from your career/title, apart from your friends, apart from your extra-curricular activities. Sometimes silence can be therapeutic and it can bring the peace and clarity you’ve been longing for.

What ever it is that you may be struggling with be it fear, depression, worry, or doubt. Take a moment to breathe and to shift your perspective from the emotion, to the end result that you desire to see. Remember that emotions change depending on the moment; you can not trust them or allow them to dictate your life. My mother always told me never to allow my emotions to cloud the truth. The truth my friend is that you are more than a conqueror (Romans 8:37) and you have the power to change your situation; but first you must shift your perspective to believe it!
